"Not as lean, not as mean, but still a Marine."
Retired from USMC 1981. Went back to school and graduated with honors in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. Also graduated from the first Police Academy class at George Stone Vocational College in Pensacola. In 1989 started teaching in flight simulators at Whiting Field in Milton, FL. Retired in 1998 at age 62, then Twila and I spent a few years hitch-hiking around the world on MATS flights.
In 1988 Dave Boatwright, Dale Tinsley, and I organized and conducted the first-ever HMM-265 reunion in Pensacola. I am proud of my plank-owner status, but it never would have happened without Uncle Dave's leadership. I'm also proud of having attended every HMM-265 reunion since that first one in 1988. I currently (2018) am honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the HMM-265 Veterans Association, Inc.
I'm from Yates Center, KS, where we maintain a second home for hunting and visiting old friends. Twila and I are retired at Cape San Blas, near Port St. Joe, FL.
