Fellow Marines,
This email is primarily a forwarding vehicle for the two very important attachments about planning for Reunion 2023. Please open them right away, think about them, and respond by January 7, 2022, if you want your voice heard in the venue selection process.
While I’m at it, though, a few housekeeping items:
First, we need pictures from all reunions and all eras of service with the squadron, both HMM and VMM. Please share yours. See https://hmm-265.org/galleries/ for how and where to send them.
Second, a quick note about our website address, HMM-265.org. We now are HMM/VMM-265 and try to make sure that we always say so. However, the domain name HMM-265.org goes way back before VMM. We looked into changing the domain name but it was just too hard. If anyone thinks it is important enough and can tell me how to change the domain name without a major PITA then I would be glad to do so.
Third, we need someone to replace me as Webmaster. I am 83 years old and can feel my physical vigor and mental acuity slipping. The need is not yet exigent but should not be put off too long. Ideally, we need to find a replacement while I can still be a resource as the new Webmaster comes up to speed. Please reply if you think you even might be interested and we can talk about it.
Merry Christmas to all.
Semper Fi!
Chuck Johnson

The two attachments referred to in the email are (1) a letter from Basye, HMM/VMM-265 Veterans Association President, and (2) an annotated list from Don Duszynski, the meeting planner retained by the Board to help with venue selection and contract negotiations, of preliminary responses to a request for proposal (RFP) that he had sent out on our behalf. Both documents are shown below.

Not true. I am just the SLJO sending and receiving email and summarizing the results for the real planners (Bob and the rest of the Board and Don Duszynski).
